I have Gentoo Linux, and i downloaded tar.gz and run playonlinux...
terminal shows:
localhost playonlinux # ./playonlinux

Hello matiit,

I moved your topic because it was in a wrong section. Next time, be more attentive please.

About your problem, it seems to come from the language's choice. Try to choose it in Options > Language.
If you can't, instead type in a console:

Console:

echo "en_EN.UTF-8" > $HOME/.PlayOnLinux/configurations/options/pol_lang


POL should run after that.
