I've recently attempted to install Sims 3 under wine via Play On Linux. I ran the install script using a legit CD copy, and it installed everything perfectly. The original version of TS3.exe wouldn't run at all, so I installed a no-CD crack over it, replacing the executable, as per the instructions here: http://www.wine-reviews.net/wine-reviews/playonlinux/the-sims-3-with-playonlinux.html

So I ran TS3.exe again with wine, and it worked completely fine up until the loading screen. It played the logo and intro videos, displays the loading screen, all perfectly, and then as soon as the loading is finished, it crashes with a segmentation fault, no with no preceding wine errors.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or found a solution?
