Description, étapes pour reproduire :

I installed the latest version (downloaded August 6th, 2012) of The Pandora Directive from GOG.com.

Digital sound works fine, but midi sound will not play regardless of what sound card I choose for this.

Timidity plays midi just fine on the command line.

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit.

Damn, this game uses so much digitalized music in the beginning, that I missed that it uses MIDI too

Should be fixed, just be sure to run Timidity as ALSA sequencer on midi port 128:0 (the default).

If you want to skip reinstallation, and think you didn't mess up too much with sound configuration, you can add

midi_midiconfig=128:0

to you ~/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/TexMurphyTPD_gog/playonlinux_dos.cfg

It works now

Had to choose ESS Sound system (port 388) in the sound card selection to get sound though, but as I remember from 1997 the sound config in this game was tricky ;)
