Hey everybody! While I'm just getting used to Ubuntu, I miss my Starcraft. I do have a dual-boot with Windows, but that's no fun booting into Windows just for a game. I tried installing Starcraft on Play on Linux, and it installs fine. I was actually able to get into one of the missions error free.
Unfortunately though, I am unable to connect to battle.net. Firstly, I get at least (minimum) one error that it can't detect the current OS or there is something wrong, and that's understandable. Once I get past that stage, I get sent to the login screen. The screen has no background to it, just a few multicolored lines. After about a second, the game crashes. There's no error message. I can reproduce this 100 times. Here's some information about my system:
Distro: Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron)
Name of software: Starcraft - version 1.05 {Wine is version 1.0}
Desktop: GNOME
Error from software: No error message, although upon entering the login screen for battle.net the game crashes.
Computer Configuration:
AMD Turion X2 64 (2.0 GHz - dual)
3 GB of RAM
ATI Raedon X1250 (128 MB)
Not sure if this makes a difference, but the game can run on Windows fine, it's such an old game.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you very much for your reply in advance!
