i legally produced an .iso file of my jedia academy CDs (2 CDs altogether) because it means that it'll run faster. I used Gmount-iso on Ubuntu 9.04 to mount it on /media/cdrom0
playonlinux treated it like a CD-Rom. It installed fine as well. But everytime i autorun it, the game menu comes up and i click 'Play single player'. It then asks to 'Insert CD1' but it is already inserted.
I went into Wine configuration thingy and clicked on 'Autodetect' and it showed the following: -
// This is from my memory btw but it was something like this
C: ../C drive
Z: /media/cdrom0
F: /home/kash
anyways, wtf? what shud i do. it seems to know where the CDrom is when installing?

The game is copy protected and to get it run on Linux you have to use illegal stuff even when you've got original game.
PS. Please search the forum first and then ask it is the same case as here. My post from Wednesday 29 April 2009 at 13:17 or here Edité par NSLW

Hi kash959,
Citation de kash959: i had a crack and i replaced the original with the crack but it still asks for a CD?? Then it means your crack doesn't work but we can't help you about it.
Anyway, It shouldn't be required according to the Wine AppDB.
Did you installed the 1.01 patch? And what version of Wine do you use?
Bye

Citation de kash959: i want it to be able to use a mounted ISO and treat it like a CD
1) did you install the game from mounted iso cd?
2) what is your mounting application?
3) does it mount every cd in the same directory (with the same name) like AcetoneISO 2 does?
if you've got AcetoneISO 2 you can make link of "~/virtual-drives/1" rename it to "VirtualDrive" and then copy it to "/media" directory (you'll need root permissions BUT ONLY FOR THIS ACTION)

i used Gmount-iso to mount it to /media/cdrom0
i installed it using the iso. wen it asked for the second CD, i unmounted the first CD and mounted the second CD to the same place '/media/cdrom0'...
it installed it but wen i tryd runnin it, it asked for the first CD. the game works if i physically put in the real CD but not if i mount the ISO, even though it was allright when i was intallin it. also, i know the crack works because the game was fully functional when i used an actual CD
And, Gmount-iso mounts it to the place you tell it to.. no default directory

CD is copy protected and you've made ISO image which is not copy protected.
