Hello,
if you installed with Playonlinux Steam, Wine 1.7.53 crossoverhack was used.
So you could use the Steam Store as opposed to Steam with Q4Wine installed. A few days ago, I noticed that now Wine 2.12 Staging is used and unfortunately you no longer have
OKa Steam-Store to buy games. I tried it manually with Wine 1.7.53 crossoverhack, which only brought a crash from PlayonLinux. When is there again a working Wine Crossoverhack version? Thank you.

I have been using this argument in PlayOnLinux Configure:

-no-dwrite -no-cef-sandbox

It will fix the store problem, but make sure to use Wine 2.12 for Steam to launch.

Could you please describe exactly where and how I should do it? Unfortunately, I am not a very experienced Linux user. Thank you.

No problem.  Just go to:

  1. Configure
  2. Select game shortcut on the left side
  3. Select General Tab (default tab)
  4. Click in the Argument text box
  5. Paste:
    -no-dwrite -no-cef-sandbox
  6. Close configure
  7. Launch Steam

Now you should be ablet to use the store and purchase/download games.

Thank you very much. I fixed the problem in my way and changed the start command from the desktop icon. At the end -no-cef-sandbox inserted. Works as well. Thank you again.

-no-dwrite needs not to be inserted.

Just another question Why doesn`t it work properly with Steam Windows 7 ? Because you can not read half the text in the Steam Store Thanks for help.

To booman. This name sounds like the german word "Buhmann"

I'm guessing two reasons...

  1. Either dwrite is messing up the fonts
  2. font scaling is messing up the fonts

I've only experienced the dwrite problem.  So -no-dwrite has always fixed it for me.  I know certain versions of wine work without it and you can also add an override in Wine Configuration.

I have always used Windows 7 for Steam in PlayOnLinux.

What does Buhmann mean?

No problems, the fonts are looking fine.
I've looked at what "Scape" means, but I can not find any translation for it.  Or does it mean something like "escape"?

I finally found the translation. In German, this is a "Sündenbock" in your language it means "Sins buck"

Yes, Escape is the same too.  Its from the Christian Bible.  The priest would kill one goat and then lay his hands on another goat... then take it out into the desert and let it go.  Escape Goat.
