Hello, I just recently found out about PlayOnLinux and am intrested in using it to play World of Warcraft on my linux computer because I have had problems running wow with just wine alone. I am using Mandriva 2009 operating system. I have the wine version 1.1.12 installed and I have wow fully downloaded and installed including all of the expansions. I downloaded both wow and wine before downloading playonlinux. I downloaded playonlinux but I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. I've been reading on this site about scripts but I'm a complete newbie when it comes to linux and I'm not sure what to do with them. Could someone help me out? What should I do at this point?

hi,

here's the link to the manual, http://www.playonmac.com/en/manual.html

if you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask or look around the forum there are plenty of topics concerning world of warcraft .

laters,

If there is a problem, fill out complaint form and place it in an envelope addressed to the name of the hospital in which you were born....

I followed the guide but I'm stuck at one part of it. The step after the wine configuration it asks: what kind of installation? and gives me three options: 1. install with four cds 2. install with five cds and 3. install with one dvd . I don't have any cds for installation, i downloaded world of warcraft from their website. Is there any way to proceed from here without the game cds?

Hello digimas,

Since you yet have a fully installed WoW in Wine's prefix, you'd rather use the Wine Import plugin (available on the download page) than reinstall WoW.
To install a plugin, run POL, in the Plugins menu, choose Plugins manager. Then use the "add" button (don't forget to activate the plugin once it's installed).

And if you experience issues when playing World of Warcraft with PlayOnLinux, create a dedicated topic in the Issue section.

Bye
