Well mate we came so far for so little will make a post on WINEHQ about the game overlay but the problem now is that the install is a bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes the game installs correctly, sometimes it doesnt. This time its the latter. When clicking 'play' the game never shows up but a process is created, I included the gameoverlay patch but still didn't work. Gotta work something out with the MONO-.NET situ but I know the game is still in testing. Thanks for your help.

For sure. Sorry. Unfortunately, its the nature of the beast when the developer is at the whim of the proprietary frameworks they use. It will probably need a patched version of Wine 1.7.8 or above. If there is a patch, definitely let us know, and we can queue it up for a POL build. :)

I have the Collector's Editon Disk. I am looking through the install script and am following through with that. I can get the install running (Setup.exe) but now when I sign into Steam I see no text. I have CoreFonts installed. The game doesn't show up and it is still a great pain in the butt.

Just tried and verified the solution to this last issue: Terraria loads but crashes as soon as a key is pressed. After setting gameoverlayrenderer to Disabled Terraria is playable again. (Using wine 1.7.11). Thanks DJYoshaBYD.
