Have fun downloading 13 GB of data wink

I don't use Arc anymore, I just update via the Neverwinter launcher and everything works great.

Exactly. That is how the script works, too. No Arc, no Steam. For STO and NWO. All thanks to that user that posted the direct links. Like I said, I was TOTALLY playing the hell out of STO before I deleted my virtual drives. hahaha. I need a different system just for testing. lol.

I just remembered that it is still on my laptop. It looks as though it is downloading the Elemental Evil updates automatically, so to the user that asked before:

Just run the Neverwinter Online script from PlayOnLinux -> Install, and it will automatically set it up for you, with the Elemental Evil updates too. It simply patched it up for me no problem.

What happens if those links dissapear?

If anything, just download it via Arc or Steam, then use the Neverwinter Launcher.

Really, I love STO. NWO is dope, but STO is my set. haha. I am so glad I don't have to use Arc or Steam to get them anymore. :D

They are the main download links that Arc and Steam use; I doubt they are going anywhere. And if they do go away, I will find the new ones, update the script, and boom. :) As of now, that is a non-issue, so the POL installer is recommended.

Oh, I didn't know those were public, I would figure that it was some kind of proxy server that only Arc and Steam have access to.  That is pretty stinking cool. Can you shoot me both of those links?

They are in the scripts for STO and NWO:

The script downloads them, checks the MD5, and runs the installer. It is like, so simple. I love simple scripts, especially when the program doesn't need any major voodoo to get running. Automation-nation. :D

BTW, I am still waiting for NWO to start up after patching so that I can confirm the updates for "Elemental Evil".

Its not considered "Additional Downloadable Content"
http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter

It appears to be a "module" for Neverwinter and should install along with a patch:

Yeah. It just logged me in and, like you said, it looks like it just throws it in there when it patches, so you would just need to update your client, or if installing for the first time, it will just install it automatically. That is awesome.

What is funny, is this just screwed my work day knowing that STO is still on my laptop, though. ;) lol

Also, just FYI, I switched my WineBuild to the newest staging version and turned on CSMT... Nice. Great increase in performance on my laptop (intel hd4000) and my main system (dual Nvidia cards). Obviously, -staging builds are not default, but for those that want to use it, that is available, and I recommend trying it for a nice performance boost (for most people; it doesn't always give better results on all systems).

Yes, I recommend them as well.  I have been playing Grim Dawn in PlayOnLinux with Wine 1.7.39staging and it is running great at 1440x900 with most of the settings on high.  I'll have to try some newer ones like 1.7.24staging.

Work or game?  Hmmm.... GAME! devil

At this point, I am inclined to agree with you; I am already signed in. hahaha.

That is awesome that you are getting such great performance. I am SO glad that we have the -staging builds now.

The game plays fine. The elemental evil content is the most current patch and I played it this afternoon. I run it on pol, Linux mint 64 bit. Kernel 3.13 and change, nvidia driver 331.
I first installed via booman's guide. Worked flawlessly. I never use the arc client. Definitely worth installing.

Sweet, but again, there is no need to do a manual install via any guide; the automated installer does everything for you. We recommend using the installer, and if issues arise, please let us know that it doesn't work so that we can fix it (especially if you know what is causing the script to break). There is no need at all to use a manual install guide for this application (STO or NWO). Not that those guides don't come in handy (though, in my opinion, would be better suited as test cases to report bugs to us so that we can fix things..... for the amount of manual install guides, I see little to no bug reports about the scripts related to them...), but there are scripts for a reason, and if they don't work, bugs should be reported so that we can fix them. laugh We work hard on the scripting API and want to keep the automated installers available so that any given user can install their favourite software in a dozen clicks (if that), as opposed to 50+ clicks.

How do we install "Elemental Evil"?

I'm asking because my daughter and I are playing Neverwinter and would love some new area's

Elemental Evil, is the current content release of Neverwinter Online.

In the "Windows" world where I have been playing it *cough*, content updates are 'installed' automatically, as a 'version' update.
