Hi all,

According to WineDB (here), Resident Evil Revelations (Steam) is tagged as GOLD.

I've tried to get it to works but I failed due to these problems:

- It crash at every keypress

- Using a x360 controller I was able to navigate in the menu, but the pad buttons are wrong

- Resident Evil Network seems to be always offline

- The main game doesn't work: it get stuck at loading screen.

Any hint ? I think that would be so cool to write a script for this nice game.

Thanks,

Luca

For the crashing, disable the Steam Community In-Game Overlay.  Wine isn't compatible with the overlay and it crashes a LOT of games.

Are you able to download the entire game in Steam?

Make sure to install the recommended packages:

  • d3dx9
  • vcrun2005
  • vcrun2008
  • xact
  • wmp10

I like to throw in corefonts and tahoma as well.

You might have to set Wine as Windows XP for wmp10 to install.

Wait wait wait... before anything:

- debug output

- full computer specs, graphics card/drivers, etc..

Always look at the simplest things before throwing components into a virtual drive that may or may not need them. It could be a simple xinput error, but who knows?

NOTE: This stuff should always be in your first post. It helps a great deal when trying to figure out what the issue is.

Oh I totally agree. That is where I always  start, too. (well, first with a fresh, nothing special virtual drive, then I go with that, just to test), but yeah. It is still something that we would need to see, before and after (well, only after if there are still issues).
