my name is alin and im new here :)
i like linux more than "windows" but the point is im stuck with it because of the games
id swich to linux if i can run my windows games just like in windows
here is my pc :
intel pentium dual core e2140 @ 1.60 ghz 1.60 ghz
2 gb dual ram
nvidia 7300 GT 256 ddr3

i installed last week ubuntu 9.04 with my latest drivers from nvidia and than updated it, than i installed wine tru apt-get and finaly playonlinux
than i installed gta san andreas
it was ok game installed perfectly but all details and rezolution were LOW and i think i got
like 10-15 fps...
i had compiz enabled.
i also play nfs pro street on windows vista and i get 50-60 fps in game with medium details and no antialiazing
is it possible to get nfs pro street working on wine and get 50-60 fps just like in windows with my pc or exactly "Is it possible to get windows games to run on linux at same fps like windows ?"

From my experience it's possible to get some game running on fps maybe lower than 5fps than on Windows, but there is rapid development in wine 3d so you can expect it'll improve.

PS. It's good to always use ORM=fbo and latest Wine

Hmm... if i recall correctly then there was an regression with this game for wide range of Wine versions which were causing game to be sluggish. Please use latest Wine-1.1.23 with GTA SA. How to do this is described here (look particularly on point 2b )
