Hello everybody,
Would you like to tell me, how can I change the installation directory of the games?

Ubuntu 9.04 / GNOME

Hello junev,

Just an advice: you'd better be more polite ("Hello", etc.) if you want an answer.

Hello

I would like to ask the same question: "how can i change the directory where the game gets installed?" (remodeled the question a little bit)

the thing is that POL installs the games in my home directory and i cannot find how to change that. And that is a problem.
First of all: my home directory/mount is only a ~2% of my total disk space (20 GB out of 1TB), so If I would install the games there, it would be jammed in no time.
Second: I would like to have (and actually have) a special folder in a place of my liking instead for games, and not everything in "home". Actually, I hardly even use that dir.
And my C:\\ is set to a custom location, a separate mount even.

So, would You please tell me how (if it is actually possible) to change the installation directory?

P.S. I do not want to look rude or something, but, mr. Admin Sir,
You told this guy to be more polite, but You, Yourself acted a bit impolite by not actually answering the question. It is OK to tell a person to be more polite next time, but, in my opinion, You should have answered the question afterwards. Well, he actually had edited his post to make it more polite.
Anyway...

Thank You for Your time.

Long time ago I made plug-in POL Helper. It helps me today to install in other directories (excluding NTFS and places which you don't have right to)

We've got plenty of those impolite people and I don't think Ghostofkendo had willingness to answer another impolite request.
Second thing is: how do you know if Ghostofkendo knew the answer?

Hello again

1. Is it possible for me to get that plugin? If yes, then how?
2. Yes. I know how much those *impolite thingies* can be annoying.
3. I did not knew if Mr. Ghostofkendo had the answer, but presumably, according to his post, it 'feels" like he had it, since after examining His post, it seems that he would have written the answer if *that guy* would have been more polite, or would have written that there's no solid answer to that or it is actually impossible.
4. And yes, I know that usually I am pretty annoying, but I cannot help it, that is the way I am.
5. Is there any other way to change the dir than the plugin You have mentioned?
6. I am really curious: why was POL made to install games only in the home dir? Of course, there are some good points in that, but in some cases it is a really bad feature.

Thank You for Your time

I included FAQ in POL Helper package. There I explained on an example how to install in directory other than home. Have you red that?
