I have a weird problem.

I have a macbook pro 5.5 13" with nvidia 9400m (I know not the best system but plays games on low settings).

I installed Playonmac and installed Steam through it. Next I installed The Witcher EE. So good so far.

Now to the problems.

First of all. Everytime I try start the game this it says "performing first time set up" and installs Direct X. This happens everytime I start the game.

Not that big of a problem just a bit of annoyance.

Next the graphics problems.

Many times my character looks like this.

Then I restart Playonmac and Steam. Also I install "opengl-fix" though Playonmac´s plus sign.
Then I get this result.

Then I do the same procedure (restart and yet again install "opengl-fix") and I get this result.

The graphic bugs changes eveytime.

Now here is the really weird part. Sometimes when I restart my computer and try it out - I get no graphics problems what so ever.

And other times when I restart it gets worse.

Do you have any idea what I could do? I could really use help and would really like to play my game without installing Windows XP.

Otherwise I think Playonmac is a really great project :D

The Witcher do not seems to work properly with OSX, that's why it's not officialy supported by POM while POL does. DVD version do not even fully install (last time I tried, with wine 1.3.7). As soon as it's possible to add it to POM, it will be done.

It's a good news to know the Steam edition run anyway, just be a little more patient :)

If you want to still try and manage to make it work properly, report it and I will try with DVD version, if it work, this game will then be supported by POM.

Excuse me for asking but how do you report?

Do I just send a post in the "applications test" in the forum?

Version of PlayOnMac: 2.4.1
Version of Wine: 1.3.9
Mac OS Version: 10.6.5
XQuartz version: XQuartz 2.6.0_rc1
Version of Game: The Witcher EE on Steam

Mac: MacBookPro5,5
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 9400m
CPU: Intel Core2Duo 2.26 GHz

Comments:
Installation works with no problems of both Steam and The Witcher EE.

-Everytime I start the game it does a "performing first time set up Installing Direct X for windows".
-Then I can start the game and it is playable. But the game has various graphics errors.

Example of the different problems:

PS. I will also add this post in the "applications tests" part of the forum.

One way I have found to temporarily fix this is from within the game, hit ESC to get the menu, then change the video settings, resume the game, then ESC and change the settings back. Not much of a fix, but it makes the game playable.

Quote from WineHQ

Can you try it ?

Another thing : Try to download d3dx9_36.dll (google)

Do a right click on Steam shortcut -> Open the application folder

Go on windows directory (two parents directory) -> system32, and place the dll here

Tried both your suggestions nothing works.

dll-files changes nothing.

And changing the video settings back and forth makes it change the graphic bug. Different bugs like in my example pics.
But it does not solve the problem.
