My audio works fine in playonlinux apps, but when they are open, it will no longer work outside of them, until they are closed.  Is there any way to solve this?  I am running Debian 64 Jessie using Built-in Analog Audio off of my mobo.

Hmm. Thats odd. Mine does not do that. It may be an issue with ALSA and Pulse audio (if your system runs pulse by default).

If you right-click your programs icon in POLs main window, and click configure wine, what does it list as the sound module being used?

Is pulseaudio running?

It is running HDA Intel - ALC889 Analog, and yes, pulseaudio is running.

i have same ALC889 and pulseaudio 4.0 and works perfectly.
havent had such issues since wine 1.4 and pulse 3.x versions.

however you can try simultaneous output of pulseaudio

install paprefs
add simultaneous output
and select simultaneous built-in analogue audio from your volume settings and try it
