League of legends freezing upon entering a match
|pencilWarrior||Sunday 27 April 2014 at 16:38|
I just started out with linux and I really like it so far. I also spent a lot of time trying to get LoL working and this is pretty much my last try.
my current composition:
I'm using Debian wheezy 64bit with Xfce.
I have wine 1.4.1 installed but I also use Playonlinux 4.2.2 with wine 1.7-leagueoflegends. (I'd really like to understand the relationship between the installed wine and the wine installed by PoL)
As for hardware I have a sixcore AMD CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a Sapphire Radeon HD6850 with 1GB of GDDR5.
I currently have the ATi proprietary driver installed. I followed the tutorial on the official Debian wiki: https://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary.
Following this tutorial I installed the Catalyst 12.6. In the beginning i had the well-known "PoL cant find OpenGL 32bit libraries" problem which i fixed by installing some package (I tried a lot of them so I dont remember the exact name, it was something like fglrx-driver-32 or i386).
By installing this package it finally created libGL.so.1 in /usr/lib32 which was requested by PoL (at least the debugger stated so)
I installed League by following this tutorial: http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/league-of-legends-guide.206/page-5
After fixing the OpenGL32bit issue it seemed to work great. It started the launcher, updated, I could log in, create a custom game, start it. Then the loading screen would appear where it showed all the bot portraits while mine stayed black. After about 2 minutes also mine would appear and load. However when it enters the game it instantly freezes, leaving me with the view of my champion standing in the fountain unable to do anything.
To fix this I already tried the following:
*switching PoL wine versions to 1.7.17, and 1.5.24-leagueoflegendsshop
*changing to WindowsXP in Wine config
*turning on/off emulate a deskop in wine config
I also had the ATi open source drivers installed (https://wiki.debian.org/AtiHowTo) under which I got LoL running. The performance was however rather bad. It never got higher than 25 fps and was most of the time around/below 20fps. I hoped to fix the performance issues by using the more powerful proprietary drivers...
Now to the complete error messages, these are the logs of a debug session of League of legends in PoL:
When starting the game in PoL, opening the launcher, clicking "Play":
Login Screen, logging in, lobby appears (I typed my password incorrectly 3 times incase something seems strange :S):
Then i start a custom game, it loads and it freezes upon entering the game:
Maybe somebody can read the solution out of those logs or knows some other solution or things I could try, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Fixed by Riot in Beta client, hopefully next patch will contain this fix!
