Hello,
I am here on the PlayOnLinux forum after hours of research on google trying to fix this POL problem, including looking at some old posts, but nothing seems to work.

System specs:
I am currently using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 'Trusty' with POL 4.2.2.
I have a Radeon HD 5450 with proprietary drivers installed off the website, because they give better options and the Catalyst Control Center works. (The problem here occured with the OpenSource drivers too)

I have installed Valve's Steam platform directly through POL, and it never worked properly.
What happens is I can install game, the whole platform works fine, but when I go to launch them they start launching but then just exit, sometimes their window flashes on the screen, sometimes they just never start.

I have been in the configuration options for POL on the Steam drive and have installed a few packages I though might have been important, like .NET and thing as such.

Steam on POL was by default using Wine 1.5.25, I switched it to Wine 1.7.17-WGL_WINE_surface, and the problem was still present.

So I went into the Steam drive's wine potions, and found out that if I enable a virtual desktop the games will launch, but they will be extremely laggy and keyboard controls won't work-basically unplayable.

I have here the debug message for when I try to launch a game:
