Wow! I see that on your site, you guys have documentation. :-) I'm gong to stay up late and read it ALL. Some awesome WINE / POL mojo would be dog handy!  :-)

If someone can help me get this working, I would be eager to contribute the resulting setup for stock Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. I'm betting it probably will work with some tweaks. Others have been able to get it to work but I'm having some trouble. Battle net runs fine but it crashes when I try to load the actual game.  Prefer 64bit if possible. Tutorials I've tried are:

Errors I've seen refer to missing libraries. I've tried guessing at the right libraries but my guesses aren't very educated. I can get you the actual errors after work today 5pm EST.

Crap. I've just realized that this is probably in the wrong forum. It should probably be in Application Tests. Sorry about that guys.

Anyway I got it working! :-)

Basically what you do is install BattleNet instead of "Wings of Liberty" using PlayOnLinux. Oh but just BattleNet. Not StarCraft yet. Change to the latest version of Wine available. 1.9.15 at the time of this writing. Set your video memory size, 1024 in my case. Then you select the Wine tab in the PlayOnLinux Configuration window. Click the Configure Wine button. Select the libraries tab and add the libraries listed here:

  • api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0
  • api-ms-win-crt-stdio-l1-1-0
  • api-ms-win-crt-math-l1-1-0
  • ucrtbase
  • vcruntime140

Apparently these are a work-around for this issue: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40905
THEN you install StarCraft. I have noticed that it doesn't go full screen but I think that is because I'm using Synergy right now. I already know StarCraft on Wine hates Synergy.

...OK nope. I have a new problem. It seems the application window maintains a title bar and doesn't appear to go fullscreen when it should. How to fix?

OK, I've found that too!

Starting from the POL screen: Select Battle.Net | Configure.

Then select the Battle.Net app and then the Wine tab.

Select Configure Wine to open the WineConfig window.

Select the Graphics tab.  Uncheck all boxes in this tab.
