I tried to install SWTOR last night with the latest build of playonlinux and using the AMD propertiary drivers for my Radeon HD laptop graphics card but I can't seem to load up the game at all. It gives me a black box when I fire up the game. Any ideas what is going on here?

Try those steps. It has tricks with setting valid desktop for launcher.
